Fall Table Runner

Hello!

This weekend I finally had a chance to get a little more crafting done. I found this table runner on the one and only Pinterest! I also followed the links to this blog where there was then no further finding the original creator. If you find it, let me know!

In prep I gathered:
- burlap [[free from my sister]]
- letter stencils from Hobby Lobby (which just came to my area and I am SO excited!)
- paint brushes also from Hobby Lobby
- scissors

I simply followed the picture directions to make my own version. Here are my own pics documenting my crafting adventures!

I first cut out the letters.

I taped the letters together.

I painted the letters.
I put a towel underneath just to make sure none of the paint
soaked through the burlap.

This is the finished product!

(Sorry for the poor quality pics! That's about all my iphone 4 can do!)

Thanks for reading!

"Man" Shelf

Yeah, yeah, I know it's been a while once again since I last wrote! Things mentioned in the last blog post have continued to keep me exceedingly busy. My hope is to write at least five posts over the summer to catch up a little on my crafting projects. I (with the help of my sister) made my boyfriend a "man" shelf for Christmas last year. We were making each other homemade gifts and my sister found this idea somewhere online.
Unfortunately I don't remember the original site the picture was taken from, but I used it as a basis for my creation. My sister, Esther, and I found belts as thrift stores and used wooden slabs my father had hanging around in the garage. We sanded and stained the boards before nailing in the belts to create the shelf. Here's my finished product!

A Year Later!

2012 turned out to be a busier year than I ever expected! I traveled to Vermont, California, and Mexico this summer, got a new job as a full-time Special Education teacher working with K-3, began volunteering as a youth leader in my church's high school youth group, and continued to lead a young adult group at my church. I also completed many projects that have yet to make an appearance here.

Here's one of my proudest projects... a map chair! I made it for my sister for Christmas 2011!

I got the idea from this chair I saw on Pinterest...

Coming Soon...

I recently began this blog as a way to organize and share all the projects I will be doing. I hope to get some of my most recent projects up soon!
